The Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics (CoEDF) offers B.Tech in Information Security and Digital Forensics course in collaboration with the Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Deemed University, Madhuravoyil, Chennai. The course will be offered through the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dr.M.G.R. Deemed University.

Curriculam

The curriculum has been well designed by the experts from the industry based on the requirements of the IT / Software industry and mainly focuses on the subjects relating to digital forensics, mobile forensics, information security, cloud security, wireless security, database security, application security, malware security, risk management, incident response, cyber criminology, investigation of cyber crimes, cyber laws, intellectual property rights, financial frauds and information security audit systems. The course in ddition to a theoretical background gives a strong practical base needed for the industry in the field of cyber forensics and information security. The laboratory of Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute and CoEDF are well equipped to provide hands on training on digital forensics and information security domains with latest inputs matching the industry in India and abroad.

Eligibility

There are two modes of admissions for this course:

1. Direct entry after +2 or
2. Lateral Entry after completing
   • Diploma in Engineering polytechnics with computer science or EEE or
   • B.Sc. Computer Science/IT/ B.C.A.
   • First year of any B.Tech/B.E.
